The latest news to come out of the US housing market is that new home sale volumes have slumped to levels not seen since 1963 and established home sales have fallen to a decade low.  The new home sales figures are considered to be a leading indicator for established home sales market, suggesting the US housing market is likely to be in for further pain.

The results of the RP Data-Rismark Home Value Index for June showed that the unit market has outperformed houses over the last 12 months and during the last five years.

Historically, houses have enjoyed a much more rapid appreciation in value than the growth recorded by units.

The NSW Government imposed a new tax on the 1st July, 2010 which will affect on the sale of residential and commercial property. This tax will be levied on the buyer when purchasing property worth more than $500,000.

The NSW Government delivered the 2010-11 Budget with a number of key wins for the property industry. From July 1, stamp duty will be abolished for the next two years for any purchasers buying a home worth up to $600,000, prior to the commencement of construction. This is a potential saving of up to $22,490.
